What Ahrefs does well
Ahrefs runs on its own web data, collected over more than ten years. Site Explorer shows what any site ranks for and who links to it. Keywords Explorer researches searches. Rank Tracker follows positions, Site Audit crawls a site for technical issues, and Brand Radar tracks how a brand appears in AI chatbots.
There is a free plan, Ahrefs Free, for data on your own site, plus free SEO tools and an AI visibility checker. Paid plans start with Starter at €27 a month. Lite, at €119 a month, adds Site Explorer, Keywords Explorer, Rank Tracker, Site Audit and Brand Radar for one user.
If SEO is your job, or you run campaigns for clients, that depth is worth what it costs.
What ReachKit does instead
ReachKit starts from your site, not from a database. The free scan reads your site, works out your market and runs 12 Google searches buyers in that market make. It shows who is on the first page instead of you, whether AI answers mention you, and a Visibility Score from 0 to 100 with its range.
The paid plan is €49 a month. ReachKit tracks up to 5 competitors and writes up to 7 pages a week, new or updated, that go live on a subdomain of your domain or on your WordPress. At most 4 a week are new pages. Each page is read against 22 checks and goes live on its own 24 hours after it is written.
